Overview

The VPR center supports a variety of educational activities and resources, including scientific conferences, workshops, traditional and electronic textbooks, online courseware, and traditional courses. These efforts are aimed at training undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows and faculty. Workshops, courses, and tutorials use software developed by VPR research teams for training in quantitative physiology and computational biology. Tools including JSim and OpenCOR are used for building models to represent and analyze physiological functions, while the Physiome Knowledgebase (currently under development) will facilitate semantics-based querying, extracting, merging, and integration of archived models and data.

The software and model and data management tools used for educational initiatives are primarily developed and supported by the computing and data core. Courses and tutorials make use of models developed explicitly by VPR research projects, as well as the wider research community.
